"High 7 Moon 5" sees him returning to his songwriting beginnings with a mixture of western swing, bluegrass and rootsy folk.

The album features pedal-steel maestro BJ Cole, two members of UK country-rock pioneers The Rockingbirds - Sean Read & Chris Clarke, and former Chefs/Helen & The horns chanteuse Helen McCookerybook.

Martin continues to play live all year round over the UK, Europe, and America, working 52 weeks of the year.

Martin Stephenson is a supremely gifted singer, songwriter, musician and performer, whose career in music stretches back now almost twenty years. He formed The Daintees in the early 80's, one of the first bands to sign with the Newcastle-upon-Tyne based independent label, Kitchenware. Kitchenware signed Martin to London Records, and they released 4 critically received albums, "Boat To Bolivia" produced by Gil Norton, “Gladsome, Humour, and Blue" "Salutation Road" and "This Boy's Heart" produced by Lenny Kaye. But it was live the Daintees excelled, and they would often sell-out London's 2000 capacity Town & Country. Martin split the Daintees in 1993, and signed to Demon Records, for whom he made three, highly acclaimed albums "Yogi in My House", "Sweet Misdemeanour" and "Beyond the Leap, Beyond The Law" Following the sale of Demon in 1998, Martin continued to release albums on independent labels and to date has released a further 14 albums. Since then he has re-convened the Daintees on several occasions and will be doing so again in September 2007 for 2 shows at London's Jazz Café.
