Deep Fix | |||
|
Deep Fix have been described as a "5 piece psychedelic juggernaut". Mixing influences ranging from west coast psych, dirty blues and southern rock they attract a wide ranging audience that have described them as sounding like a mix of The Doors and The Stones.
This is their second independently recorded demo/EP and is considered by themselves as work in progress. The Fix recorded this offering live in their rehersal space simply because they feel it's what they do best and "some songs are never played the same way twice because of improvised sections within the numbers". |

This time round slide and rhythm guitars feature on the opening salvo, a tumbling, off kilter blues number entitled "Baby Baby". A female vocal cruises along on the track "Yesterdays" like a caddy on a sunset strip not to mention a stand out vocal performance from the Deep Fix ivory tinkler on the stout rocker "Outsider".
Though the best was saved for last, the Santana flavoured "Come Away With Me" is something of a crowd pleaser. Swirling Hammond solos, stinging lead guitars, swamp rock vocals and a rhythm section like King Crimson clockwork. This is straight from Haight Ashbury and Captain Trips himself sprinkled the space dust. Superfuzz Bigmuff?..... Yes please. |
