| The release of Blue Vinyl Island’s self-titled debut album has seen him focus on his alt. country leanings to produce a record of some depth. BVI has a passion for story songs and one can hear many fine examples on the record, including songs of star-crossed lovers to illicit goings-on in the seedier parts of town. The lyrics explore those expectations we all have in life while the music interchanges between sprightly folk arrangements to reflective atmospherics, all created by a fine bunch of multi-instrumentalists known as the Secret Six. | ||||
